On Tuesday, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) released the following statement after voting against H.R. 186:
Though there were multiple bills included in today's en bloc vote on "suspension" bills that I would have supported in isolation, and one of which I am even a cosponsor, I continue to vote no on these packages.
The ridiculous process of grouping dozens of bills together and voting once, en bloc, remains flawed. I am steadfast in my belief that Members should vote on each bill and be able to put their name on the record for those bills they truly support or oppose - but even more, to debate, amend, and improve them.
Congress can, and should, do better.
